David Henderson Martin
Chairman

David H. Martin is the Chairman and founder of the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund. Mr. Martin has served in the federal government in a variety of significant positions, including Director of The Office of Government Ethics from 1982 to 1987 where he was responsible for policies and ethics enforcement extending to the entire federal executive branch. As Director of the Office of Government Ethics, Mr. Martin served on the Presidents Council on Integrity and Efficiency.

Edwin Meese III
former U.S. Attorney General
One of the most prominent board members of the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund is former U.S. Attorney General Edwin Meese III. During President Reagan’s terms in the White House, Mr. Meese was a member of the Cabinet and National Security Council, in addition to being Counsellor to the President from 1981 to 1985 and the 75th Attorney General of the U.S. from 1985 to 1988.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of LELDF long-time board member, Eugene Hilburn “Gene” Methvin on January 19, 2012.

Eugene Hilburn Methvin, the son and grandson of a family of Georgia newspaper men and women, was born in 1934 in Vienna, Georgia, where his parents published a country weekly, The Vienna News. He began his journalism education by sleeping on a bale of newsprint every Thursday night while his parents met the weekly deadline. He began writing and reporting for his parents’ newspaper as a child.

Alfred Regnery

A true renaissance man is how Chairman David Martin describes Alfred S. Regnery. The LELDF is fortunate to have a Board member with the extraordinary background and abilities of Mr. Regnery. Mr. Regnery is President of Regnery Publishing Inc. and a practicing attorney with the law firm of Keller & Heckman in Washington, D. C. He served in the Department of Justice from 1981 to 1986 as Deputy Assistant Attorney General and as Administrator of the Office of Juvenile Justice & Delinquency Prevention.

Wm. Bradford Reynolds
former Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights, U.S. Department of Justice
In a radio address during his presidency, Ronald Reagan described William Bradford Reynolds as, “not only a tireless fighter against discrimination, [but] a brilliant and dedicated lawyer. His qualifications and character are impeccable. Indeed everyone knows Brad Reynolds is a man of integrity and strong ideals, that he’s firmly committed to the same vision of a just society that I am.” The Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund is fortunate to have Mr. Reynolds as a member of its Board of Directors.
