A
true renaissance man is how Chairman David Martin describes
Alfred S. Regnery. The LELDF is fortunate to have a Board member
with the extraordinary background and abilities of Mr. Regnery.
Mr. Regnery is President of Regnery Publishing Inc. and a practicing attorney
with the law firm of Keller & Heckman in Washington, D. C. He served in the
Department of Justice from 1981 to 1986 as Deputy Assistant Attorney General
and as Administrator of the Office of Juvenile Justice & Delinquency Prevention.
In that position Mr. Regnery started some crucial programs for law enforcement,
including the very important National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
He also initiated a chronic offender program that encourages prosecutors, police
departments, judges and corrections officials to focus on chronic offenders who
commit serious crimes.
