Sean Kennedy

Sean Kennedy serves as LELDF Policy Director where he conducts research on policing, crime, and justice policies. He also serves as a visiting fellow at the Maryland Public Policy Institute. Kennedy’s work has been published in The Washington Post, CNN.com, The Chicago Tribune, The New York Daily News, City Journal, and The Baltimore Sun among others and cited by numerous media outlets and academics. He has testified before the District of Columbia Council and Maryland General Assembly on pending legislation.

Previously, Kennedy served as an advisor to Members of Congress and their staff, state legislators, non-profit leaders, and business executives on policy matters and communications strategy. His previous experience includes directing research at the American Enterprise Institute for former Speaker Newt Gingrich, serving as a television producer and writer for CNN, and assisting in the research and writing of history and public policy books. He is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley and received his master’s degree in history from the University of Cambridge.
