CHARGES DROPPED for OFFICER GENTRY
Officers Gentry and Bretches were making an arrest of an individual who had been selling illegal drugs. The drug dealer, a convicted felon with priors for resisting and evading arrest, refused to submit to arrest and reached toward his waistband. The officers, fearing he was reaching for a weapon, struck him several times in the face. Once the suspect complied, he was handcuffed and placed under arrest. Ultimately, he pled guilty and was sentenced to several years in prison.
Almost two years later, after being cleared by multiple investigations, Officers Bretches and Gentry were charged by a newly-elected “social justice” prosecutor. They face life in prison if convicted.
